Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about how BetaTestZone works.

What is BetaTestZone? +
BetaTestZone is a reciprocity network for Android developers. It helps you find the 12 active testers required by Google Play for a 14-day closed beta. You test other developers' apps, and in return, they test yours.
Is it free to use? +
Yes, BetaTestZone is currently free. You earn visibility and testers by being active in the community.
What is the "Activity Score"? +
Activity Score is our way of measuring your contribution. Every time you join a test session, perform a check-in, or provide feedback, your score increases. The matching algorithm promotes apps from users with the highest activity scores.
How many apps should I test? +
To ensure your app gets enough visibility, we recommend testing 2–3 apps concurrently and performing daily check-ins.
How does the 14-day requirement work? +
Google Play requires 12 testers to be active for 14 consecutive days. BetaTestZone tracks this for you. Your testers must check in every day on our platform to count toward your progress.
What happens if a tester becomes inactive or violates the rules? +
Inactive testers automatically lose score and visibility on the platform. As a developer, you have full control over your test session — you can remove or ban any tester at any time, no justification required.
